Victor has built us a huge wooden box that he calls the "music box"! This box is our Giant Instrument; it will be the vessel that carries all of our musical instruments. Below are some photos from yesterday, when we first saw the box, and our work in the studio. We came up with designs that could go on the outside of the instrument. Rose proposed writing the phrase: "Everybody's Allowed", meaning the whole class is allowed to play our instrument.
TODAY... The children painted the rest of the box with gesso to make it smooth and white, in preparation for designing it with words and images. In the coming weeks, with Victor's help, the box will get 4 wheels and possibly even a steering wheel.
