HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY CASSIUS!

Today, in celebration of Cassius, his parents Monique and Praveen came to tell all about their family's many adventures this year.  We heard about ...
  • Their trip to Florida where Cassius wrestled an alligator, dressed up like a pirate, and even held a large yellow python!
  • The Indian festival "Holi" where they got covered in colorful powder
  • Going to baseball games - seeing Bowie Baysox!
  • Learning how to swim
  • Visiting Ocean City with his friend De'Shawn
  • Doing obstacle courses over the summer, such as the famous Spartan Race!
  • Picking raspberries with Bruno
  • Vacationing in California where he walked in the tide pools and found hermit crabs, sea urchins and snails.  Then whale watching, where whales swimming underneath would rock the boat back and forth!  And finally, panning for real gold.
  • Becoming a junior ranger at Yosemite National Park
  • Doing gymnastics and ice skating with his best buds
  • Wearing Halloween costumes as a family - Cassius was the cop, and his mom and dad were two "crooks"!

Cassius' birthday committee (Alex, Carl, and Hadley) presented him with his gift: A RACE CAR!

Cassius generously walked around the room to show all his friends the beautiful car.  Then he walked around the candle five times.  Happy birthday, Cassius!  Thanks for being such a great friend!

Clay...
Children are familiarizing themselves with materials that make impressions in clay.  Rolling fabric or hammering into the surface of the clay are just a couple ways to make an impression.  Willa and Mac (along with several others) experimented with ways of manipulating clay slabs.
