It was the first day of school for Carl, Ellee, Grace, Jay, Lucy, Prater, and Rose. Everyone was so happy to see each other! The theater/dramatic play area was definitely the most popular; friends collaborated on original scripts about princesses, queens, kings, dragons and ninjas. One performance took inspiration from Moana, Care Bears, and Ariel. Problem solving, negotiation, listening, and literacy are just some of the skills children are practicing while creating and performing plays.
Children continued to work on their cubby basket sewing project. Lucy chose orange cloth and cut it to make it just the right size.
After returning from a brief visit to the new "Post Office," Prater excitedly made a message for her sister, Leigh, in the Brown Room. She used Scrabble pieces to help her write Leigh's name. Next she went to the Brown Room to find Leigh's stamp. In the Post Office, Prater matched the letters on her message to the name on Leigh's mailbox (tricky because they are in lower case on the boxes), then she visited her at the snack table to tell her to check her mailbox.
