Tea Time at Christmas: A Bieligk Family Tradition
Short and sweet, Lily's mom, Jessica talked about a Christmastime family tradition of having tea (hot cocoa for the Lily and Maren). She brought in many photos from the tradition and some green and earl grey tea to smell.
Thank you to the Bieligk family!
Mystery Guest & Family Tradition The Aposotolou family shares about Orthodox Easter
Elena's and Alexandra's mom and dad, Apostolos and Christine were another mystery guest today to share with us about their observation and celebration of Orthodox Easter. With the globe in hand, Apostolos directed us across the Atlantic to Cypress where he grew up. He shared some of the iconography with the children and told of churches underground called catacombs. They offered each child a dyed, hard boiled egg to play the game of clinking eggs together and seeing whose egg cracked first. They also offered some delicious foods for us to try at snack: dried, apricots, olive tapenade, a honey bread dessert, and more! Thank you to the Aposotolou family!
