Finishing the Fabric Wreath "It's Gorgeous Isn't It?!" - Dagny
This morning we finished working on the fabric wreath based on Tegan's design. The children all helped to string the fabric on thread and Tegan and Dagny worked hard to wrap the fabric pieces around the hoop using wire. "It's really easy to tie wire!" noted Dagny, "I'm tying a knot so it doesn't fall off!" We are looking forward to hanging the wreath in our Rainey Room shop!
"I found Three more!" - Maisie
"I'll keep hunting for more sticks!" - Abby
Next, we will work on Jame's wreath design using painted sticks. "We're almost doing Jame's wreath. It's gonna be made out of sticks I think." said Will. "
Breaking out of the Mold...
This morning the children helped to pop our plaster collages out of their molds. We placed them on one of our shelves in the studio so everyone can admire their beauty and intricacy.
Every morning the children participate in setting up and getting ready for our community snack. Our snack has evolved into a sophisticated mealtime complete with our very own handmade clay plates, bowls, and scoopers. The children have been leading the mindful moment before we eat and they have even taken on the role of handing out the hand sanitizer. Take a sneak peak....
Mystery Reader "It's Mystery Reader so YOU read!" - Cate
We were so lucky to be joined yesterday by Will’s Grandmother who was in town visiting! She read two of our favorites, If You Give and Pig a Pancake and Blue and Berty.
Today we were joined by Dagny’s father Paul who read a little something for everyone…Star Wars and Frozen! All the children kept asking for "one more! one more!" and Dagny thought having her dad come was read was "So cool!!!"
