Making a Mobile for Finley
Over the last few days the children have been working hard to make a new mobile for Maisie's baby brother Finley. It was Maisie's thoughtful idea to make a new mobile for her baby brother and the Rainey Room friends were thrilled to help!
The first day, the children worked to string the beads and bells. "This is so when the baby looks at it, he will go 'teehee, teehee' and he will laugh!" explained Abby as she swayed her beaded string in the air, listening to the sound of the bells. "These bells are perfect for the baby!" agreed Dagny.
"This is for baby Finley!" announced Elena proudly as more friends curiously gathered around the table. "I'm so sorry some of your stuff got ruined," remarked Zarina empathetically. It is so remarkable to see how the children come together to support and help one another during trying times!
The next day we worked on figuring out a concept for hanging the stringing beads. Maisie came up with a design to loop the hoops with two or three strings of beads on each.
Next, the children used the hot glue gun to wrap pretty ribbon around the hoops. "I definitely know the safety rules about glue guns because I got one for Christmas!" remarked Maisie as we went over the safety instructions and prepared the bowl of ice water.
The mobile came together SO beautiful and we are so excited to wrap it and gift it to Finley and the Murray family!
