​Thank You! : Making Cards to Express our Gratitude

Before the holidays, Cate gave the Rainey Room class a gift of two games. We also received some new building blocks from Marley. These offered a great way to follow up from the holiday cards created and mailed home and to continue to think about others. A card for Cate, Marley, and Jessica (Will's own thoughtful idea) were created today and will be hand delivered on Monday, when Cate has returned. Additionally, we hope to begin making "thank you" cards for the respective shops we have visited on our neighborhood field trips and the significant people we met when there.

Small Building Blocks Pave New Roads

Small building blocks of wood and brick were again used today in a carry over from yesterday. The fascination of travel, movement, maps, and now the idea of the good and the bad (perhaps of the chase, catharsis of fear, and a power dynamic relative to our more primal natures) is coming into play--figuratively and literally. Once again, a "bad guy" road was created and . Remaining curious, time will show where this new paved road may lead us. 

Settling Back into Routine

How great it is to see so many parents on a cold Friday morning! And a sister too--Clara, a St. John's alum and Caleb's older sister stayed for our first morning meeting of the new year. Happy 2018! Abby chose the morning meeting face: A Billy Goat Truck face (maybe Billy Goat Gruff?) We made our plans and then Maisie and her birthday committee: Dagny, Caleb, Abby, and Tegan were off to brainstorm!
