Mystery Guest: Caleb, his mom and dad, and his Mimi
California & Guacamole 

Elena: "Why do you love California so much? Why do you go there all the time?"
Caleb: "Daddy (and mommy) is from there."

Kate explains how California used to be its own Country--the California Republic and how the state is very large that it has a norther California (San Francisco and the Bay area) where she is from and southern California (Los Angeles where Andrew and her mom are from).

Family history in California...

Mimi: "In 1880 my great grandfather traveled from Wisconsin... by horse...all the way to California. He owned a plant nursery and planted palm trees." The palms still stand today but some that are over a hundred years old are at the end of their life and will need to be replanted. 

Elena: How do you know it's a palm? 
Hugh: It's leaves go... (makes hand motions in shape of palm leaves)
Tommy: Palms have palms.

California Dreamin and the Guacamole...

 Kate tells part of the story of how she fell in love with Caleb's dad... She explains that although they met in NYC, one of the things she liked best about him when they were getting to know each other was his amazing guacamole.
