This morning, Louise returned after being out sick for several days. Everyone was so excited, her friends welcomed her back to school with a big group hug and told her "I love you" over and over. We heard more exciting news today: Grace is a big sister! At morning meeting, she told us about her new baby brother Luke. We are all thrilled for Grace and her family. Later during morning meeting, Toniann shared a surprise that was also a bit of a mystery. She shared two objects had she discovered in her yard. The first we couldn't quite figure out, but we had some ideas and we were blown away. Austin: The worms made it. Grace: It's like a turtle. It's messy. Sally: It's for snakes. The second object was also beautiful and intriguing, but it was easier to identify. Louise: It's a nest! Sally: Oh, it's so cute. Kian: It's nasty. In the classroom, we worked together to make table decorations for the New Parent Reception later this week. The children are excited for the party and were really enthusiastic about using our Mardi Gras bead collection and the hot glue gun. Austin work a really long time snipping beads to cover the glue. Rowan came by at one point, saying "I can help. I'm a really good police officer." Later in the morning, we had a surprise guest: Grace's aunt Megan came by to deliver celebratory cupcakes to the big sister. Then she and Grace took a selfie with Grace's friends to send to her mom and baby Luke. Outside later, we had another surprise: beautiful new sand in the sandbox. It was so amazing and soft, many of us took off our shoes to dig our toes in. What a fabulous day!
