What a great day! Rowan and Kian worked with the "shoparies", the term that Rowan has coined for the goods in the store. Rowan: What do you want? Kian: This! (brings a piece of food to Rowan) Rowan: Let me see. (Looks through a small notebook) Rowan: Ok, you got it. Kian moves to the table to work with the food he got from the store. Rowan: I have a wallet. What do you want? Kate: Cheese? Rowan: Yes! You want 1,2,3,4? I write it down (begins to look in the small hand book and gestures with his finger). You see this silly part? Then Rowan, Sally and Will went to Rainey Room to visit the shop in that room to learn more about it. Lou Lou and Elle worked with wire and beads in the Brown Room classroom. When the group that visited the shop in Rainey Room came back they explored the materials offered in Brown Room. Elle and Will experimented with wire and piping to make paths for beads to travel. While Leigh, Charlie, Margaret and Kian experimented with photographing vehicles and worked with the bamboo tablet in the middle room until joining us again later. At story time Toniann read Little Excavator and asked the following question to the children afterward "What job do you do well?" Margaret: Take care of Bear Baby Will: I cook. Sally: I color. Rowan: I rake. Elle: I play and put my clothes on all by myself. Leigh: Cook Lou Lou: Babysitter Kian: Play with cars and trucks. Charlie: I cook. Music was festive with a seasonal favorite.
