It was a great day of carpentry work in the studio. The children have been learning about tools and the saw was next on the list. Mostly everyone had a go at it. They learned about the sharp teeth, the strength it takes to cut into wood and how to be safe when working with it. There was also work with wire and wire cutters going on to make wheels. Then later on there was "Ki-Ya" practice, as Austin calls it! Austin has inspired some Karate movement in the class. It began with Austin demonstrating the movement and then again in some cases teaching; showing the hand and leg positions. Then individuals went down the line and some children also paired up, but everyone got a turn to move up and down the green line to practice it. You will find the video at the bottom. Have a great weekend! This morning in dramatic play, it appeared Will and Grace had a big problem. They both wanted to use the same cup. After talking through the issue with Lisa and with each other, they realized that they could solve their problem by finding another cup. But there was none in sight. So they decided to look for it. They used tools and teamwork and enlisted help from friends. When they finally found the cup, there was a lot to celebrate!
