What an exciting start to Halloween! After spending some time in the outdoor classroom we came inside for a special spooky snack. The children made monster apples with peanut butter and yogurt-covered raisins and, as requested, bagels and ghoulish cream cheese.
The Atelier was visited by ghosts who left us wonderful materials to create with including glow in the dark paint, a shadow puppet theater, black sand, black glue and ink on the light table. We all agreed, the room wasn't scary...but it was very spooky, especially with our halloween music!
Inside the classroom, they mixed magical potions using all their senses. The had essential oils, dried and fresh herbs, salts, baking soda and vinegar and different dyes. The children named their potions and shared what powers they had, here are a few:
