Today, we celebrated two special occasions, the first day we were all in school together and Lisa’s Birthday! The children made birthday messages for Lisa and we sang to her before sharing a special treat at snack. Happy Birthday Lisa we love you so much!
The children continued to personalize their cubby bags. We began with drawing with permanent markers and layered watercolors on top. The children loved experimenting with color mixing while we created studio paints earlier this week and watercolors offered another opportunity to explore the world of color. A huge difference was that our watercolors do not include white paint. This created an interesting problem to solve. Elle decided some of her colors were too dark when she painted on her bag so she painted on top with water and used a paper towel to blot off the excess. The other children noticed her process and replicated her technique.
Melanie from the Rainey room stopped by to gift us a cicada shell they found in the outdoor classroom because they remembered we are studying insects. Thank you for continuing to send in photos, specimen and stories of insects and enriching the classroom!
