,Our table centerpieces are so close to ready! Working on them again today with a new group we revisited our documentation and we struggled with what to put into the vessels at meeting. Yesterday we started making centerpieces based on what we do in the classroom. Then Kate and Toniann opened up the dam and the ideas just kept flowing! Trains! Trucks! Stamps! Babies! Animals! We worked on the tea party yesterday, which is on the left in the image below. This project involved a lot of thinking: choosing the objects, thinking about the story of the vessel, thinking about the size of objects and the space in relationship to each other, problem solving issues like a vessel not being big enough for the objects we wanted to include and how to work together in this process. After the pieces were finished some children wanted to pose with objects they like to work with in Brown Room or the vessels they helped build themselves. They wanted to stand on the low table, with the light pouring through the window behind it and we did it!
