Chocolate Cake Card

Today we celebrated Grace's school birthday. Her parents and aunt joined us for morning meeting and they shared photos and the story of how Grace was born. She was born on New Year's Eve at 3 am, so they were all so tired that they slept through the New Year. There were photos of Grace in her mommy's belly the day she was born. Grace called the picture "Me and Mommy" and photos of her as a baby coming home and sleeping peacefully in her Daddy's arms. After the stories Toniann laid out the Earth blanke and Grace walked around the candle three times. We sang happy birthday to Grace and then she blew out the candle. We then gave her the chocolate cake card present with working lights on top. When Toniann and Grace's birthday committee, Jack, Austin, Joslin and Elle, interviewed Grace we found the inspiration for making her gift:

Elle:         Do you like cake?
Grace:    Yes, Red & Brown.
Austin:   Do you like chocolate cake?
Grace:    Yes, my mommy and daddy say that.
Jack:        Do you like cars & trucks?
Grace:    Yes, I like cars & trucks.
Joslin:     Do you like music?
Grace:    Yes, I like music.
Joslin:      I like music, too.
Austin:    Do you like a dress?
Grace:     Yes.
Austin:    No, do you like a dress for your birthday?
Grace:     My bobby dress gone.
Toniann: What does it look like? What color?
 Grace:     Orange
Toniann:  What animals do you like?
Grace:       I like blue animals.
Jossie:       Do you like tigers?
Grace:       Yes, I like tigers & dinosaurs.
Elle:             What do you like?
Grace:       Chocolate.
Elle:             I like blue lights, green lights and white lights.
Grace:       Those  nice things. I, too. Lights, me, too!
Jack:           Do you like monsters?
Grace:       Yes.
Jack:           They are bad.
Toniann:   Are there good monsters?
Jack:           There are some good monsters.
