The Brown Room braved slightly chillier temperatures this morning for a backwards day. Children went right to work fixing a broken bridge in the sand area. Using teamwork and collaboration, friends successfully fixed the broken bridge by patting down dirt and rocks to "put it back together". Children also used tape and watercolor paints to experiment with negative space on the picnic table. It's exciting to see the design left in watercolor once the tape is removed! Once inside, children worked with clay and easel painting. Louise, Grace, Charlie and Austin laid impressions into clay slabs. Volcano painting - inspired by Jack's interest in volcanoes and a new book in the classroom - seemed to be the theme at the easel today. Friends used an image they'd chosen from the volcano book as inspiration for their paintings. Thanks for another wonderful week, Brown Room!
