It was a wonderful first day back at school! Inspired by a new year and new possibilities, the children and teachers worked together to re-imagine the dramatic play and construction areas in the classroom. Toniann worked with the children to create an inviting space for a big tea party. This required recovering our tea set from the Thanksgiving centerpiece, relocating the dollhouse, and moving a big heavy table. The children worked together as a team, and were so proud and excited to move that table, then even more excited to enjoy each other’s company over tea. Lisa worked with a group to refresh and rearrange our construction materials. We took a trip to the Tucker Room closet and discovered lots of cool new things to add to our collection. We had a great time exploring the materials and stocking the shelves. Margaret got right to work with a set of shiny metal pipes, proclaiming, “I make a dishwasher. I make it myself.” Afterward we relaxed in the reading nook, looking at photo albums and enjoying each others' company. We’re excited to share our refreshed space and reconnect with the rest of our Brown Room friends tomorrow.
