Today, Sally and Rowan were working on a project in the classroom using wire and beads when a call came in from the Rainey Room. They both rushed to answer it. There was initially some tension about whose turn it was to talk to Rainey friends, but as you can see in the video, Sally makes a decision that turns an ordinary classroom conflict into a beautiful moment of patience and understanding.
What you don't see in the video is that while Rowan is trying to connect with Rainey Room friends, Sally is back at work, keeping busy while she waits patiently. Sally did eventually get a turn, but what we're all learning in the Brown Room is that getting a turn isn't such a big deal. Being patient, being kind, communicating, working through challenges, appreciating a friend's enthusiasm--these are all so important and give us a special kind of joy and contentment.
