Backwards day! We started in the garden and the weather was a delight! There were many ideas flowing during our time out there. A sand toy tower was built and an investigation stirred to get the sand to fall through all of the wheel levels. Would a lot of sand do it? And more on top of that? A little? Sand with mulch? Sand with no mulch? The investigation continues. Friends were blowing trumpets at a picnic party celebration enjoying some laughs. Then something was found by the gate.
Toniann asked, "What is this? How did it get here? It's not from the garden. Is it?" pointing to an orange ripened fruit sitting on the gate post.
Jack and Louise stepped toward it to take a closer look and then they both looked back at the garden. Jack looked up and said, "From there." pointing to the tree. "Look, there are more." A few children noticed the fruit a few weeks ago and it was decided that it was a peach tree. Toniann asked again, "What is it?" Jack looked at it and said, "It has a black spot on it. It's a tomato." Louise agreed, "Yes, it's a tomato." Toniann asked, "Should we take it upstairs with us?" Jack said, "Not today."
At snack Tucker Room's traveling band came by to play for us! The Brown Room children loved it. They played for us for a while and then they invited Brown Room children to sing with the music. Quite a few children moved up close to watch the players and cozy up to the music. The band finished and we said goodbye and thanked them for traveling by. And then a few minutes later a knock at the door. More visitors from Tucker Room! This group had an invitation for us; a disco party invite for October 11! The children are excited and can't wait! Have a great extended weekend!
