In the outdoor classroom, Lou Lou’s mom spotted a small moth fluttering it’s wings in the sand box. It seemed to be near the end of its life because it could not fly away, but the children gently held it and felt it tickle their hands.
Next, Kian found a worm in one of the wheel barrels. Again the children took turns passing the creature around and feeling it wriggle in their hands. Leigh decided to make a home for the worm in some wet leaves by the trees but the worm escaped our grasp and was not seen again.
Lou Lou: I think it wants to open the computer and to do some work.
We noticed the back of its body was contracting and expanding very quickly. and the children shared their ideas about why it might be moving that way.
Rachael: It looks kind of like an accordion.
