We missed Toniann today, but we had a great time with Caroline. In the morning, some children got to explore the magnet board. This was especially meaningful because Caroline and her sons Adney and Eton inspired our magnet board and helped to lead a group of parents who designed and installed it in 2015. You can read the full story in the hallway across from the board.
Over snack, we talked about what we had worked on in the classroom and studio. Some children explained to Caroline the materials they’d been using to decorate their portfolio drawers, and this led to a very interesting discussion about the definition of “bows” versus “ribbons” and how they fit together. Given the number of both in our classroom these days, this is a very important distinction. At the end of our class time, St. John’s Reverend, Gini came to visit and read the book Leaf Man for our first chapel. Now we’re all seeing animals everywhere…
