Friends can’t smell the flower because they might get their boogers on it. Sally Sally brought in a rose that her mom picked for her, she said there was another bud but there were ants crawling on it so she left it alone. The children were eager to share their experiences with roses. Louise sang a song about roses and violets her dad taught her. A few children shared what they know about bees and nectar with supporting ideas, building off of each other's knowledge. We have noticed many of their stories about plants seem to include insects. Insects excite some children, while they are scary or gross to others. However we feel about insects, we try to remember that insects are here to help and we should treat them with kindness.
