It was a very active day in the Brown Room. Before morning meeting, a group of friends played a rousing game of nature dominoes. As everyone came into the classroom at drop-off, the children did a wonderful job of welcoming and explaining the rules to everyone who joined the group.
In construction, a group of children played with airplanes and built towers. Initially, the airplanes just kept crashing and the tall towers were fun to knock down. After a while, though, Kian and Sam decided they wanted towers that would stand, and they experimented with different designs to figure out how to build a tower that was both tall and stable.
Will, Kian and Sally later decided to use a long strip of cardboard to make an airplane. There wasn’t quite enough space to get inside this contraption and fly it around, so they built a stationary airplane with seats. Will captained the plane, and gradually more and more passengers got onboard for a trip to Mexico.
After some time, Margaret and Elle decided to take a break from air travel and they did some quiet sewing. It was a lovely day full of imagination and the joy of being together.
