When Will entered the classroom this morning he asked for bear. Toniann realized it was Margaret's bear that he must have been referring to. Kate found the Koala and offered it to him. She asked, "Did something happen to it?" referring to the bandaid on it. Will said, "It fell down." Toniann asked, "Does it need an x-ray?" Will agreed and then Toniann asked, "What is an x-ray? Do you know what it helps us see?" Will, Jossie and the other children around weren't sure, so Toniann went over to the computer and projected an image of a koala's skeleton on the wall. We used black paper and white pencil with the images over head to imagine the bones inside the animals we were x-raying.
Many babies needed bandages in the hospital and train layouts became an inspiration for the newly added structures in our collection.
