Mini Self Portraits

Our new friend Leo, BR, just started CW, so he needs  a mini self portrait to add to his school portrait. He did a wonderful job drawing his portrait, first he traced a circle, then two eyes, a nose, a mouth,  and his hair. Then he choose his skin color to color his face. Max also wanted to draw his self portrait using the same steps.

Keeping it Cozy! A snowman/snowy house for small world

Before the winter holiday, Lily remarked on the black painted dollhouse which was loved as our CW  haunted house in October, saying, "You know how we made a haunted house at Halloween? We should make an every year house. Like a snowman house."  With this in mind, Brigitte transformed our haunted house into a snowy house.

"Snow is falling on the house!" Max exclaimed with delight in watching the transformation. “...We can make Christmas inside! … We need snowman, reindeer, Santa… presents. All of the stuff we need for the Christmas! And a snowman okay! Can we do it?! Can we do that?! We'll bring this to the work of small world next week.

Keeping it Cozy! All aboard the outdoor classroom train - making stops in Philadelphia, New York and finally California. Have a cozy long weekend!

Tucker Room Construction Area is so FUN

Picture

The Tucker Room children built an amazing structure and left it up so the CW children  could also add elements to the structure. So we had small cozy world happening on the low table adjacent to the giant structure.

Happy New Year 2026!!

Wishing Everyone a Happy New Year 2026!

In CW, we have started the new year by reflecting on our winter break. Thank you so much for sending photographs of your children's cozy moments. They are all excited to share with us they special "cozy" stories. There's lots of ideas emerging in CW regarding "coziness" and winter. We are making a winter tree for our table setting, some children want to sew cozy blankets, and build Winter cozy houses.
We are also exploring symmetry on the light table. We baked treats for the unhomed. Three new friends are joining CW. Camila from tucker room will join us two days a week, Leo from Brown Room will attend three days a week, and Gigi from Tucker room will start in February three afternoons a week. We are so excited to welcome them with open arms and open hearts.
