Of course we had to have small world during our last week! Mimi pointed out that the building on the light table is also like small world.
Yesterday we children had the opportunity to build with large blocks as well. After starting the building we added projections to further develop their ideas. Some of their reflections:
Ford - This is better than small world.
Seon - Both of them are good.
Wilder - we built high and built with Hogwarts. I like that!
Cape - The whole city seemed bigger (with the projection).
Mimi - The light made it more beautiful.
Today children built with the hollow blocks again. Although we didn't use light projection, we added magnatiles to the mix.
The Peeling Process
The weather has been practically perfect! We've been enjoying group games and playing with sand and water while outside. Jack spent some time with us outside today.
A Special Guest!
A Quick Look at Our Day
The school is buzzing with portfolio conferences and other end-of-year routines.
Here's our day in photos!

Small World and Light Table Scenarios
It's hard to believe, but there are only 7 more days of KW. This week, we have some things to finish, like our books, collage boxes, and portfolio name tags.
Last Friday, we asked children what they wanted to include for our final days together. Here's the list that children and teachers developed:
Magnatiles, small world, creating portfolio name tags, and finishing our books also kept us busy!
Have a great weekend!!
A quick look at everything else...
Children worked on their name tags for the portfolio bags that will be distributed in a few short weeks! Children also created environments and engaging stories at the light table and and in small world.
This week, we will work on a new kind of collage. Children will be able to use papers and images to embellish boxes that may eventually be used to store their treasures. Like the rest of the school, we are starting our preparation for the end of the year. It's time to make tags for our portfolios. Children are getting excited about bringing their work home! We also are looking forward to creating cool scenarios at the light table and in small world.
Be sure to check out the updated hallway documentation next week!
We had extended outdoor time today and brought out ice to keep things cool!
Other outdoor fun this week
Have a Wonderful Weekend!
