We decided to use the digital microscope to get a closer look at our water samples from the Georgetown Canal (taken on Friday with KW children). It was fascinating to see micro-organisms moving around under the lens! Max: I saw a pattern there, it's blue and brown! Ellee: I see him! It looks like a piece of hair but it's not. Mac: That's a fish there, I think he's stuck. Jay: What is happening? It's different. Look, I see the seed! Drawing and watercolor materials were available for children to use to record their reactions and observations. We'll keep this experience on offer most of the week so children have a chance to revisit the investigation. Some friends added top glaze to their leaf prints in clay. We decided to take a walk at the end of our day to check out some of the spooky decorations in the neighborhood. We decided the spookiest of them all was a tie between a little girl sitting (and creepily singing lullabies) on a swing and a hole covered with "danger: zombies" tape surrounding it - although Vivienne claimed that none of them could scare her!
