Happy New Year!Welcome back St. John's family and friends! And what a beautiful snowscape we get to come back to. Hopefully, everyone is feeling rested and excited for the new year. This week we plan to begin conversations about the school's 25th birthday and what that means. Some questions we already have: How do you know the school is having a birthday? How do we know how old the school is?) How do you think a school can celebrate its birthday? What could we do to help the school celebrate its birthday? Returning to St. Johns in the Snow! All day, children were excited about being in the snow. As KW started playing outside, they had these things to say: Cape - The snow looks like a blanket of white. Finlay - The snow is as much fun as the being at the beach. The snow is basically the sand at the beach. Lucas - I was making snowballs and throwing them at the climbing wall. Cape - I'm making roasted marshmallows, They have cinnamon and powdered sugar.
Building with "Snow"Luke: (Makes a home for snow balls using all squares) But it needs a roof. Oh, I know! (he uses triangles to make a roof ) There! Great! Finlay: And there's a parking lot! Wilder: This is where they have a party when it is night time. Capers: All the lights can be heaters. This part can be the palisades. It's where a lot of people stand for a party. Do You Want to Draw a Snowman?
