Welcome Maggie!

We are so lucky to have Maggie working with us as Brigitte completes her student teaching!  She's a familiar face at our school as she has been our most extraordinary sub this year!

 Big and Small Building

Light table has almost become another location for small world.  On a regular basis, it features beautiful stables for horses and unicorns.  We have also been building on a larger scale this week.  Children have been creating bridges, ramps, and parking structures for various vehicles. 

Authors and Illustrators

At this point, children have dictated most of tehstories for their books.  They are currently hard at work illustrating them.  We've also been reflecting on what makes a good story:
 Cate - Having fun, like adventures and meeting new people.
   Remy - A good ending.
   Wilder - An adventure in the episode.
   Luke - Kids are drawing the best pictures.
   Hugh - A war.
   Jill - Really?
   Wilder - Harry Potter has wars.  I love Harry Potter.
   Jill - I noticed that Finlay and some others wanted the book to be funny or to make people laugh.  Is this important?
    Lucas - A funny or silly book is good.
    Wilder - Like when I had a funny Stegosaurus.  
     
    

The Outdoor Classroom 

As the weather continues to improve, we will be spending more time in the outdoor classroom.  
We anticipate bringing materials work and construction opportunities outside with us.
