Our largest KW group (8 children!) kept busy throughout the afternoon. We were pleased that the rain stopped enough for us to get outside. Children also spent time making intricate messages for some of their favorite people. Tomorrow morning you can check to see who has a very full mailbox!

We had a relaxed day in KW at the end of a busy Halloween week. The children played for a while outside, working on a building that was started during Tucker Room's outdoor time. They made "building rock" also called "rock cement" which "is stronger than cement" to use in their construction. The children debated about what type of building it would be. One idea being that each level of the building would serve a different purpose such as a hotel on one floor and another place on a different floor.
After all of our construction work, we listened to some Halloween stories, Hugh and Sam set the table, and Molly joined us for lunch. We decided we need to make a place-card for Molly on the days she visits us at lunch. We also made a plan to finish Tommy's place-card and prepare for new KW friends who may be joining us soon. Lily started working on one surprise! The children all chose to watercolor and then worked on continuing some projects including the street/cities book and hand-sewing. Sam and Lily also watched the KW Classroom Stories video before getting ready to head home. Have a great weekend! Thanks to everyone for stopping by to chat, enjoy the children's guacamole, and see our KW video during Classroom Stories Night. We had several requests to share the video, so without further ado, here's the KW Fall Classroom Stories video! Note: the painting at the beginning is Lou Lou's (in-progress) portrait of KW.
It was hard to believe that it was November with this wonderful weather. We started our afternoon with lunch outside and stayed outside for about half of our day. Tegan and Lou Lou had fun playing with the brand new animals, burying and digging up treasure, climbing, and balancing. We left some of the treasure buried and girls predicted that James might uncover it tomorrow. Holy Guacamole!Once inside, the girls got to work making guacamole for tonight's Classroom Stories event! They cut and smashed avocado, squeezed some lime, and stirred the whole thing together. It should be delicious and we hope everyone stops by for a taste! At the end of our day we had some Halloween stories and Tegan and Lou Lou previewed tonight's slide show. They gave it two thumbs up! |
