Happy Friday!  Yesterday, Tegan and Lou Lou worked to represent some aspect of Kids' Workshop with sewing and drawing.  Today Hugh, Lily, and Sam were given the same task.  The children worked with drawing and watercolors to create ducks on the canal, the canal, and lunch boxes under the table.  After this challenging work was complete, children were asked to carefully follow directions in a multi-step process.  Watercolor paper was divided into sections with tape and children painted each section.   After that was complete, children could glue one small item into each section.  We kept some of the watercolors free from the collage materials and dried them with a hair dryer.  Following this children removed the tape from their work to see the white space left behind, introducing the concept of negative space!
Have a great weekend and enjoy these images!
