Building Throughout the Day

On Tuesday, children built  indoors and outdoors. 

In the photo on the left, Cape built a lighthouse for the Seon's boat!

In the photo on the right, an American Girl doll rests in the home built for her by Frannie and Remy.

Metal and Magnet Building

Children used magna-tiles, tin cans, and small magnets as building materials.  In addition to homes and towers, Remy created packets of "French Fries," and birthday cakes with candles.  

Small World
Of course, creating small world environments and scenarios was popular all week!

Wintery Collage

​Last month, children worked on a collaborative wintery collage.  It now lives on the window above the door to the outdoor classroom if you want to see it.  This week, we began working on individual collages with similar materials.  

​While working:
  Lily - It looks like ice crystals.
  Bailee- It's a dog in the snow.  The dog is eating the snow.
  Louisa - It is fishes trapped under the ice.
  Frances - Oooh!  Shiny!
  Ford - Look at my "F" (the F in his name).  When I put extra glue on, it became humongous!
   

This and that...

• Children measured people with unisex cubes.
• Message center was a lot of fun with Valentine-innspired materials.
• Children had fun playing together in the outdoor classroom.
• We broke out the dress-up clothes this week!
