We have been wondering what about The Curious Garden and the creation of small worlds has the children fascinated. Today we set out trays and green fabric with an array of brightly colored miscellaneous objects and prompted the children to create their own gardens. Louise said, "It's (the garden) in Bethany." Grace made a garden on the table and then worked on the carpet saying, "I'm making a road." Tegan talked about her garden, "It's in Glover Park." Sam made an ocean, "This is the ocean. One day Mommy and Daddy went to the ocean and they got tiny shells like these but they were bigger." As Sam continued to work on his ocean, he added, "Pretend they (bottle caps) were tops that were thrown into the ocean."
