Bringing Our Treehouse to Life
Reminder: We will continue to use acrylic paint on Friday, April 2nd. Please make sure your child has clothing that can get messy.
Today we began painting our treehouse. It was a messy, fun and thoughtful experience. Maxon even brought gloves, just incase.
Before we started to paint, we read a book Sylvie brought in called Julia's House for Lost Creatures by Ben Hatke. As Melanie read, we thought about why we need homes.
Now I might add some yellow - Maxon
Maxon and Lucia were the first to start painting. They did an amazing job sharing the materials and supporting each other. Lucia was very thoughtful about the colors she used and Maxon made sure to cover as much of the treehouse as possible.
As we painted our palm tree, questions arose over the color of the tree. Lucia and Maxon disagreed on whether a palm tree has red in it or not. To solve the issue, we decided to do a bit of quick research.
I see green and brown. A little yellow. We can put yellow on top - Lucia
I just love to paint with all the colors - Sylvie
I need a stool so I can paint the tree. - Janie
I'm so tall I don't need a step stool - Sylvie
We put in a lot of work but we still have a ways to go before we are done. It is going to be amazing. Happy Thursday and have a great day.
