We did it! What a wonderful Brown Room year!It wasn't a "normal" year at St. John's... But we could not have asked for a better group of children and families to start our journey with. Lots of happy memories were made! And we know that we have so much to look forward to as we continue to grow and learn together. If you will be at summer camp, then we will see you soon! If not, we can't wait until we reunite for our Rainey Room year! :) All our love and gratitude, Sam and Ines Here is the link to the Spotify list we created this year and enjoy listening to on "dance party" days! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1qPvDemjSAzKYbsrDgVbi5?si=97400d4fe13340c1

Building with train tracks Wilder, Michael, Cape, and Finlay continued constructing with train tracks in the construction area. Today they expanded the train track system added a train station and two fire stations. After Cape assisted Michael with "putting out a fire in his house", Michael responded "Thank you, fire fighter!" Watercolor paintings from this morning Thank you to Daniel's Dad, Dan, for reading to us today! We LOVED our Mystery Readers this year and can't wait to continue when we are in the Rainey Room. A day of celebrations!Today as an entire school we celebrated our dear friend, Jessica, who will be starting a new journey at a different school soon. As we prepare to say goodbye, the school surprised her in the outdoor classroom this morning with gifts and lots of hugs. We love you Jessica! Thank you, thank you, thank you!To all of our wonderful Brown Room families,
THANK YOU for joining us today and for the beautiful end of the year gifts. This school year truly exceeded our expectations. We could not have asked for a more welcoming community! We have really enjoyed getting to know all of you and love your children so very much. We feel so lucky that this is only the "end" of the start of our journey here at St. John's together and are looking forward to continuing to deepen our relationships with one another over the next two years. All our love and thanks, Sam and Ines * Please be on the lookout for an email with attachments for the EOY iMovie and a collection of photos we wanted to share with all of you. Again, our apologies for the technical difficulties today. We hope you enjoy watching again at home! Bea's celebration Today we celebrated Bea's birthday! She had previously expressed her enthusiastic wish for a camel as her present. "I like camels because their foot steps they're different. that's why I like they foot steps." - Bea The birthday committee, consisting of Luke, Wilder, Lily and Frannie, created not only a camel but also "food" for the camel out of clay. After researching camels in some of our animal encyclopedias, they decided the camel needs "a head, a mouth, two eyes and two ears, a long neck, a bump, a booty and four legs" (Wilder). Luke and Wilder then added "hay" and Frannie baked some "cookies" for the camel as well. Lily created 4 legs by rolling clay into coils and adding them below the camel's body. For her special celebration today, Bea baked delicious brownies with her mom, Abby - and they were a big hit! "Donkey the Camel" (named by Wilder) Thank you to Bea's parents, Abby and Mike, for being our special Mystery Reader guests after the celebration! As this was our last birthday celebration in the Brown Room we want to say THANK YOU to all families and care givers! Thank you for your flexibility, cooperation and enthusiasm, which made every birthday celebration so very special and memorable for the children! |
