Bea's celebration

Today we celebrated Bea's birthday! She had previously expressed her enthusiastic wish for a camel as her present.

"I like camels because their foot steps they're different. that's why I like they foot steps." - Bea

The birthday committee, consisting of Luke, Wilder, Lily and Frannie, created not only a camel but also "food" for the camel out of clay. After researching camels in some of our animal encyclopedias, they decided the camel needs "a head, a mouth, two eyes and two ears, a long neck, a bump, a booty and four legs" (Wilder).  Luke and Wilder then added "hay" and Frannie baked some "cookies" for the camel as well. Lily created 4 legs by rolling clay into coils and adding them below the camel's body.
For her special celebration today, Bea baked delicious brownies with her mom, Abby
- and they were a big hit!

Thank you to Bea's parents, Abby and Mike, for being our special Mystery Reader guests after the celebration!

As this was our last birthday celebration in the Brown Room we want to say THANK YOU to all families and care givers! Thank you for your flexibility, cooperation and enthusiasm, which made every birthday celebration so very special and memorable for the children!
