This morning, we worked with a pallet to discover how we could create the colors of the rainbow by mixing paint. We started with our primary colors and experimented to mix the remaining colors using photos from the rainbows throughout the room and books we have read. Audrey, who helped mix paints with us yesterday, led the group as we built out our colors.

How do we make orange? - Jordan
I think we need yellow. - Sylvie
What do we need next? - Jordan
We need red! - Audrey

Paints mixed together

Its orange - Janie
Like my shoes! - Maxon
Now let's add white - Sylvie
What's going to happen when we add white?  - Melanie
I don't know - Jane

Add White

Its lighter! - Audrey

We concluded our color work with a painting game. Each line is a friend. Friends like to have their own space and do not always want to be touched. How many friends can you paint that have their own space?
