What's different? Sylvie: That’s smaller and that’s bigger Lucia: She chose colors. Janie: There are yellow trucks on them. Maxon: We (have to) sewed them.
The St. Johns pajama project is now more officially underway! Jen joined us today for brainstorming pajama designs and illustrating our ideas. After informing the children that St. Johns is going to have pajamas we asked them what the pajamas will look like or what pictures will be on them. Enthusiasm for unicorns and other animals was shared. (Jane also drew a pony in a house and Janie drew an owl in a treehouse. See the children's initial ideas and illustrations below:
Sylvie: I like turtles a lot so maybe turtles. Jane: I like unicorns too Janie: I like to have unicorns too. Mason: I like unicorns too. They’re magical. Lucia: They’re flying all the time!
After we drew, using only black ink Sharpie pens, the children were excited to use watercolors on their drawings to fill the images in and enhance them. (Color research for the pajama project will be a much later step in the overall process.)
"I have a problem. I don't know how to draw turtles." -Sylvie
