Today the Explorers enjoyed the singing with all of St. John's during the morning sing- a-long. Thank you again to all the families that were able to make it! There were many different experiences to choose from. They created collages on colorful envelopes, made messages for friends at the message center, built towers on the light table, read books at the cozy corner, and used their imagination in the dramatic play area.
After the Sing-a-long, the children explored the outdoor classroom with their friends. They swung on the rope swing, played in the sand box, and made a lot of yummy treats in their "bakery".
" Lillian, Let's take a restaurant selfie!" - Cecily
As they listened to Moana, the children mixed plaster with Nubia and Elana. Some students had the opportunity to pour the plaster into their molds today, while others will do theirs on Monday. Everyone is excited for their molds to dry so they can see their masterpiece.
" It looks like cheese!" - Aydin
After the children filled their molds with plaster, they decided to use the leftover materials to create collages. Students placed beads, leather strips, buttons, bottle caps and more into their clay molds to create their plaster creation. Everyone enjoyed this experience and we are looking forward to doing it again next week!
As we work towards the last days of camp, please remember to send a bag with your child so they will be able to take all their creations home! Next week we are looking forward to cooking and tie-dye. Happy Friday and we will see you on Monday!
