We had lots of fun during our last full day of camp! Thanks for a great summer and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow for Sing-a-long in Blake Hall at 11:40 or at dismissal at 12.
We had some beautiful weather to start out our Backwards Day outside this morning. Brooke brought out a portable speaker so we could jam out to The Lion King while we played.
After snack inside we spent the rest of the morning reading, coloring, and building in our classroom.
See you tomorrow for our last Water Day!
We didn't let the rain or cooler temperatures ruin our day! The classroom was as busy as always and we enjoyed a long play outside (without water) in the cooler weather.
Today was our last Monday together before camp ends for the summer, and we started off with some glitter art while we played in the classroom before heading outside.
The recent hot weather had us all inspired to create imaginative ice cream concoctions out of sand and dirt, and we served those up in between playing our usual outside games.
See you tomorrow for Water Day!
In addition to all the usual fun, the friends also made no-bake, peanut butter treats today!
It's a recipe from Lane's family and is easy and fun to do!
Here are some other photos from the day:
It's a scorcher! Even being outside at the start our day - it was still H-O-T.
But the children had fun, despite the heat.
After a refreshing snack of chilled watermelon and goldfish, we got busy indoors too.
Some friends continued their explorations with wire today. They practiced using wire cutters, threading beads and explored various types of wire: some were thick and challenging to bend and cut, others were thin and easily manipulated.
But, as always, there were lots of fun things happening around the room: painting, building, dramatic play with baby dolls, making pretend soup and drawing.
Outside the water play was a welcome treat for many friends:
And there were regular activities like: swinging, climbing, digging and chatting.
Only two weeks left of camp! The summer is flying by, but we had a great time today getting back into the groove of camp after a weekend away.
After all the rainy and humid days last week were were excited to have a beautiful day to spend out on the playground!
See you tomorrow for water day!
Sing-a-long started the day started off on the right note (get it?!).
Melanie's ukulele is always a welcome addition as is the Sleeping Bunnies song:
Afterward, we headed outside for backwards day.
After snack we enjoyed lots of books and mellow classroom play before heading off for lunch:
Have a wonderful weekend!
