Today we took our first Full-class Friday Funday trip to Volta!
The children were having a WONDERFUL time out in the fresh air together.

Aida: “Look how nice and bloomed the flowers are.”

Oliver: "It’s so fun because we’re all here together."

Grace: "This is probably the most fun we’ve had in Tucker Room since we had pods because we’re altogether."

Lane: "It feels like the old team.  This is a beautiful walk with beautiful flowers."

Andy: "All new flowers everywhere."

(Pod B Reflections)
Dakota
: I liked how there were fun slides and the swings.
Nora: I liked the swings.
Aida: I like the slides and the swings and the seesaw.
Maren: I liked the seesaw and that spinny thing-a-ma-jig.
Andy: I liked the swings and the bars.

How did it feel to get to go with the other class?
Dakota: It makes me feel happy that I played with Oliver.
Andy: I feel happy that I played with Oliver too.
Maren: I liked that I could play with my friends in the other Pod because I haven’t played with them in a long time because I haven’t been here, I was in Florida and then I had to quarantine. I like to play with my friends.

Is there anything special we should take to do at Volta in the future?
Aida: Take special plastic small jars to collect things like bumble bees, rocks, leaves.
Dakota: We could take art supplies and do a little bit of art.
Andy: Of course walkie talkies.
Dakota: I want to paint at the park.
Aida: Books.

(Pod A Reflections)
Fletcher:  It was great!
Grace:  It was great, especially meeting Bumble.
Palmer: My favorite thing was when me and Maren spinner the thing.  I spinned it the longest.
Oliver:  The things I liked best were playing on the seesaw with Dakota and going down the slide.
Gigi: I was happy to be at the park because I didn't go for long time.
Lane:  I liked drawing  my secret headquarters.
Olivia:  I liked drawing.
Grace: What I liked best was when Brooke showed me a good place to put Bumble and when we put Bumble down the slide.
Fletcher:  I liked the climber and the spinner.

(Should we draw again next time, or bring other materials?)
Olivia:  I think we should bring the whole message center.
Palmer:  Some books.
Gigi:  Water bottles....  Crayons....  Cotton balls and glue.
Lane:  Art notebooks.  Pens, so we can remember what we did.  Cameras.
A little Pod A story
We used the iPad to arrange the eight pajama designs made and submitted by the five classrooms (actually six counting Elyse's Zoom group!).  Lane re-sized and arranged the eight images for awhile.  Then she said, "If we're gonna add a pattern, I would say we are gonna need more than one of each."
After that, she duplicated the images until the had a repeating pattern.  From there, Olivia and Grace used the paintbrush functions to add color to the background or to the drawings themselves. (See the finished designs at the end of slideshow!!!!)

Mystery Reader

Wes and Lily for the win! Thanks for being our Mystery Readers today. Lily read Sofia Valdez Future Prez like a pro. Dakota commented, “She’s reading really good.” Wes read a book about yoga (Good Morning Yoga) and we joined in with the stretching.  It was so fun to have Mystery Reader in person outside in the sunshine.
