Pods A & B:
Our Second Trip to Volta Park!
Even though the weather was dreary, we had a wonderful time together at the park!  Here were some of the memorable quotes...
Fletcher:  I wonder if we'll see Bumble when we're there?  (The bumblebee from last week)
Lane:  (Singing while walking)  Getting some music into this quiet town.
Aida: (while climbing on the ropes)  I feel like I can do anything!

Reflecting afterwards:
Cannon:  It was the best!
Wolf:  I liked climbing.
Palmer:  Me too.  My favorite was the climbing and playing with Oliver, Dakota, and Cannon.
Gigi:  I liked climbing on the rope.
Palmer:  Yeah!  A lot of people did that.
Melanie & Jill:  Wasn't it so funny when Brooke was saying silly numbers when she pushed you on the swing?
Gigi:  She was also counting Spanish.
Grace:  I have a favorite thing... Going on the swings!
Cannon:  Me too!

Games!
We borrowed some games from the Lopez family and the children are eager to learn them. Yesterday we started Pesky Pirates. Even though they played for about 40 minutes, they didn’t quite finish. So we left the game out and finished today after snack. Nora won all the treasure. Everyone was good sports about it. Aida even said, “I’m proud of you Nora.”
Once Pesky Pirates was finished we began to learn a new, cooperative game that Palmer loaned us called Outfoxed. Unfortunately we ran out of time and didn’t really get a chance to play. We’ll have another go next week. Andy said excitedly, “Palmer has THE BEST games!”

Mystery Reader!
Carrie was the Mystery Reader today! Like the superhero that all parents are she juggled little Logan while reading. Dakota was wonderful big sister and offered to move Austin’s seat next to hers so that he could see the books better. Carrie read, Let’s Play, Happy Giraffe and Dinosaur Dig! Both were hits! Mystery Reader is lots of fun, we hope that more parents or caregivers will sign up.

Studio and Message Center...

After we finished snack, we invited children to a couple experiences in the classroom.  In the studio, children used watercolors to bring their recent mythology-inspired "creature" drawings to life.  Fletcher worked to finish a school drawing he made using red colored pencil.  In the message center,  children spelled out welcoming messages for the incoming Brown Roomers.  Click through the slideshow to see the friendly words Oliver and Grace wrote!
Construction
A group in construction made a stable building and a road that went all the way to the Tucker Closet.  After all their hard work they had used every block on the shelves!
