Thank you to all the families who participated in our parent night!  The children loved looking at the images that you cut out.  We have big plans for collage in the new year!

Snow!!

The children were mesmerized by the snow. Although it didn't start snowing until after Pod A's Backwards Day, they loved looking at it through the window from the classroom. At the end of the day, both groups were outside (at a distance!) to enjoy some time in the snow. It was PURE JOY!!  Here are some of the comments:
Cannon - Snow is better than gingerbread! (See below)
Lane - Everything snows when it snows.
Oliver - Look, it's my footprints!
Grace - When you step, you get footprints.
     Gigi - It's a miracle.
  As they came inside....
Andy - Oh, that was terrific!
Olivia - The snow is amazing.  There was  SO MUCH MORE than I expected.

Pod B
Gingerbread!

We've been thinking about our gingerbread people since Monday when we mixed the dough.  Today was all about rolling, baking, decorating, and eating!

Referring the gingerbread person, Lane said, "He had a short life."

Mystery Reader!

Lindsey was our mystery read today!  She read "What Will These Hands Make?,"  by Nikki McClure.   The author is a cut paper artist and the book is beautifully illustrated with images cut from black paper.  One of the illustrations featured Gigi's Uncle Ira and his dog Lunabelle.  The book shared the story of people making wonderful things in order to connect with others and make the world a better place.  After the story, the children shared the things they had made with their hands during the morning.  Gigi's family also donated a copy of this special book to the school.  Thank you so much, Lindsey!

Backwards Day for Pod A!

It was a fun but cold Backwards Day this morning for Pod A! The weather app said it felt like 25 degrees. BBBRRRR!!!!!! But the children made the most of it and had fun playing a variety of things.

Making Cars

In the classroom the studio activity was around designing and building cars. The children often incorporate cars into their dramatic play scenarios so Melanie had the wonderful idea to create them in the studio. This project will continue over the next two days. Lookout Elon Musk….the Tucker Room designers and engineers are coming for ya!
