The children had a wonderful start to the day because they finally got the lovely prints that you made during Classroom Stories Night. Great work Parents! When Fletcher opened his he exclaimed, "A train!" Grace proclaimed, "Mine spells my name!" A thrilled Lane declared, "Look! Pink AND blue!" During meeting the children also shared theories about how our feet get bigger: Oliver, "Growing!" Cannon, "But when babies grow they get big feet." Wolf M, "When I grow I will get taller than Daddy." This discussion was related to the foot measuring work that we were finishing up today. Now that we have everyone's approximate shoe size (we measured only to the closest whole number) and footprint, we'll be able to compare. Today the children used the webcam to explore the fairy village. They also worked on some finishing touches. Then a small group comprised of Emilia, Lane and Grace wrote a letter to leave for the fairies. They shared it with the class and put it out with the jam for the fairies to discover. They wanted to display the jam without the lid so the fairies can taste it. We'll see what happens next! Jessica McMillan was working with the Rainey Room today and spent some time helping children learn some of the games we have. After putting together the snake Wolf B grabbed a measuring tape and Maren helped him measure it. This newfound interest is growing! (get it?!) During snack the children enjoyed pumpkin bread made by the KW friends yesterday afternoon. Lane tasted it and said, "This pumpkin bread is SO delicious!" Grace replied, "It is delicious." Evelyn noted, "It doesn't have any chocolate chips." When asked about the ingredients Lane shared, "It's butter....all butter." See you tonight at the Fall Fundraiser!
