During morning meeting we looked at some photos from Wolf's recent adventures in Kenya:
Picture
Wolf went for a long walk and learned how to track elephants from his Babu (grandpa).

Having a picnic tea on the big plains with Nyanya and Babu (grandma and grandpa).
Picture
Wolf watched a herd of elephant cows and calves that  were milling about near the house for 45 minutes.

During second meeting we watched the videos that Wolf had sent and then came up with a list of questions to ask him during our upcoming video chat, which is scheduled for Thursday. Here are some stills:

On a recent lesson he took them to see some elephants.
After watching the videos and seeing the photos on the big screen, the children  generated questions:
Palmer: Are there reindeer in Kenya?
Wolf M: Were you riding on a good horse? (A question from one experienced rider to another.)
Grace: Can you teach us how to ride a real horse?
Cannon: Was the elephant footprint HUGE?
Grace: When you were tracking the elephant's footprints, did you find an elephant?
Emilia: What color were the elephants?
We also rewatched the video Wolf had previously sent us of a lion being sneaky. That raised a question:
Evelyn: Did the lion catch anything?

Small Group Work

Oliver, Palmer and Emilia worked on the video for Alexandra. They were filming each other teaching her how to use the sewing machine. Oliver even threaded the needle...which is very challenging!
Many friends did weavings today. They turned out beautifully!
There was also some doctor play!

Maren (to Ellie): Lay down please.
Emilia (to Maren): My mom does it this way. She's a nurse. (discussing proper stethoscope technique)
Maren (to Ellie): You are not okay.  (then to Emilia) We need to give her a shot.
Maren (to Ellie as she gives the shot): Right in the belly. Right in the belly. I'm gonna take a x-ray. Let's take a x-ray. Can I see your arm? You need a cast you have a broken arm.

Oliver drew the diagnosis.
Oliver: Ellie you got broken bones.

Lane (as she wraps Emilia's legs): She's getting surgery. She just had surgery. She hurted herself on the ice 'cause she didn't follow the safety rules.
Lane: (to Emilia): You need medicine. I'm gonna put some energy on your tonsils. You swish it around.  Now I have to take your temperature.

There was also time for train play and reading!
