A Trip to Neptune (Travel Play)
Wolf M: Buckle Up!
Lane: You can watch my ipad on the highway.  Our father lives at Neptune.  This is my son.  (indicates Wolf)
Wolf: No... you're not my son.
Lane: Here, your lion! (Hands him lion)
Wolf: He goes in the trunk.  We need to put the hats there.
(Alexandra volunteers to pilot the plane)
Alexandra: Everyone, help me count! 5, 4, 3...
Lane:  (sighs) I'm gonna do a phone call.
Alexandra:  Let's see.  Can someone please get me some dollars?
Wolf: Do you need water?  This is liquid.  (He is holding a pencil sharpener)
Alexandra:  Can someone please give me something to pack?  I need something BIG.
Lane:  Your father lives in Apra.  And then we're going to Colorado.  Do you want to hold the baby that came out of my tummy?  Her name is Collie.
Palmer:  I'm going here, where the Ninja Turtles live.  (indicates map)
Ellie:  The baby wants a story.
Emilia:  She's crying for you.
We continued sewing pillows today...
This kind of complex sewing task requires a lot of close attention from children.  They must pinch the fabric with one hand and poke the needle through with the other.  Then they have to remember to pull the needle until the thread has all come through.  Part of the challenge is to make sure none of the stuffing is sticking out!

Next week we'll be making ornaments for our Christmas trees at home...
...so today we prepared by poking holes in these metal lids.  At this age, children have more strength in their arms and hands, and can competently handle a hammer.
After the holes were poked, Gigi, Fletcher, Lane, and Grace put wire into the hole.  If the hole still wasn't big enough, it was back to the hammering!
We have lots of sparkly materials to add to these ornaments on Monday.

Finishing Touches...
We are almost done making a secret surprise for Alexandra to say goodbye before her big move to Germany.
Today, Maren, Grace, Oliver, Olivia, Lane, Gigi, Cannon, and Palmer ALL helped in making edits to the surprise gift.

Below are some other special moments from our day...
Have a great weekend!
