Clay in Pod A!
Today children began projects using clay, thinking about the shapes that they would need in order to produce what they wanted. (Pictures are labeled to describe the careful work done by Dakota, Aida, Olivia, Grace, and Andy)
The Shadow Screen
We used the digital landscape projection to travel to the Cayman Islands and Hawaii today, where we drove in our car. Oliver made a “lock/unlock” remote for the car. Maren and Fletcher pretended to be brother and sister. They jumped in the water and had to swim to shore. On either side of the shadow screen, they chased each other’s shadows. Other children got involved later, such as Dakota and Grace, who joined the family.
Miscellaneous yet Mentionable Events
In yesterday's blog, we wrote about the children's interest in Medusa which has been inspired by Cannon's knowledge of the Greek myths. Today, Eliza read us the story of Perseus and the Gorgon, which featured Medusa. The children were captivated by the story. As we signed off, Cannon mentioned that he was going to return to his Medusa painting tomorrow to add blood dripping from the monster's teeth! Many thanks to Eliza and Addison for reading this timely tale!
