Today's Pod A blog is brought to you by Gigi!
During morning meeting Nora shared her Memory Box.
Gigi noted, "Nora shared her box. I didn't really see the black seashell that well, but I liked hearing about it."
When I asked Gigi what she remembered about what Nora said about why the shell was black Gigi said, "The ocean was a little bit black and it got a tiny bit of blackness on it."

Here's what Nora told us about her memory box this morning:
"I got some pictures from the beach. And also we found a coin in my grandpa's pool. There was a rock in the pool and also a baby turtle. Here are some shells, but they're still drying so you can't touch them because mom used superglue. And also you know what we had at the beach? It's a leopard rock. See it has the spots? I had a lot of ring pops and I bought the ring pops from Chatham Candy Mannors.
Lane asked, "What's that?"
Nora, "It's a candy shop!"
Lane, "Sounds delicious!"
Nora, "But it's far away in Cape Cod. And guess what there was a light house there and the light of the light house shines all the way to Pocha Beach. Yeah, if we ever had dinner there we could see the light from the lighthouse. At the beach we found a lot of dead crabs and crab hands. Except I didn't bring one in my box. But I brought a lot of shells and rocks. See that big shell in the corner? You know why it's black? Well it's because there's lots of black water and it got some black water on it and it dried."

Thank you families for all your great work on the memory boxes! We plan to use them as inspiration for our work at school starting next week.
The children also made "book fair messages" for their families. These messages are a way for families to know some of the titles that we've already read and enjoyed at school.
Gigi described the work, "I'm putting the book fair books I want on my paper."
We made them so, "Our parents would know which books we want from the book fair." I asked Gigi what was different about the book fair this year, "It is on a computer."

Please check your child's cubby bag to see their message about which books they have enjoyed. Busboys and Poets will be featuring book fair titles for their Rise and Rhyme series starting next week. More info is in Molly's 5 Things email.
Of the digital microscope table, Gigi noted, "they are looking at plants." Dakota was, "drawing plants."

Pod B's blog is brought to you today by Fletcher!
Here's what Fletcher described about what he was doing today:
"I was giving a present to Ms. Molly. She's gonna put it on the stairwell so everyone can see it. The present is a weaving. I was wrapping the present up."
Brooke, "Who helped you wrap the present?"
Fletcher, "Melanie, Grace and I think that's all."
Brooke, "Did you give the present to Molly or not yet?"
Fletcher, "Yes, I gave it to Molly."
Brooke, "Did she open it?"
Fletcher, "Yeah."
Brooke, "Did she love it?"
Fletcher, "Yeah."

When asked what else was happening in the room, Fletcher noted, "There was sewing going on."
Brooke, "Who worked on sewing?"
Fletcher, "Grace and Rachel helping Grace with the sewing."
Brooke, "Did Aida do sewing?"
Fletcher, "Yeah with Ms. Rachel because I was still working on the present."

Have a GREAT long weekend!
