Pod A had lots of fun on this rainy day!

One big project was preparing and baking pumpkin bread.  That will be our special snack tomorrow for Pajama Day!

Many children also spent time in the Greeting Hallway at the large light table. They painted, drew, built and explored.
Here's what Cannon said while he was working on his pumpkin drawing:
Picture
Here's the mouth.

Now I need a green stem.
Picture
I'm drawing the eyes, the wicked eyes.
Picture
It's a remote control pumpkin so it can hold a baby dino. I'm gonna add some fire. This is the fire burning. Now I'll add grass.

Here's what Lane said about her painting of a family of pumpkins:
Picture
I'm adding a person who is actually a monster.
Picture
He has 4 eyes and sharp teeth and a black mouth.
Picture
His hair is gonna be slashing all over the place. And the hair is also gonna be a rainbow.

Pod B had a blast today...

Aida shared her memory box! Here are some excerpts from the meeting:
Aida: This is me playing at the splash pad. This is the solar system. Mom putted out all the planets and I colored them.
Grace: It's gorgeous.
Andy: Mars and Venus....which one is Saturn?
Oliver: I live on the planet Earth.
(talking about Jupiter)
Aida: That's the giant red spot. It's called the raging storm. It's been going for a hundred years.
(showing a necklace)
Aida: It got baked... the beads...so they would get hardened.
Oliver: That's so cool.
Aida: They're heart shaped rainbow crayons.
Oliver: They're so beautiful.
Aida: And I even brought an acorn. It's light brown and dark brown.
The big project work was creating a spooky stop motion movie!
Here is our first ever stop-motion movie! It's a tough media to get the hang of but all the children persevered to make it happen.  In this story:
  • The ghosts go to outer space and eat a whole bunch of candy
  • The ghosts go to the beach and go for a swim with the monsters
  • The ghosts go to the mountains and haunt a spooky castle until the monsters tear it down.  (Fletcher said here, "The ghosts fell down the mountain!  Good thing they don't have any bones.")
  • Then it's a dark dark night, and another castle is built for the ghosts to live in
  • The end!

See you tonight at 7 for Classroom Stories Night!!
