Adventures in Clay (snippets from yesterday and today)
Every morning, children sit at the carpet to participate in morning meeting. It's a great time for teachers and children to greet each other, sing songs, and share stories. Brooke showed us some beautiful orange and yellow leaves she found, which sparked conversation about the seasons changing. Do you have something special of your own to show? Please feel free to bring it in and we can talk about it with our classmates.
As we waited to get our pictures taken, some children invested time in some independent play. Maren is continuing her work with the small manipulatives. In this video, she places rocks in four long cardboard boxes, and is careful to add just enough to fill the space in the box without the rocks overflowing.
Meanwhile, Emilia builds several tall towers using a variety of shapes of blocks.
Evelyn and Olivia talk on the way down the hall:
"Are you my friend? Are you my best friend? We're holding our hands."
Emilia offers to push Fletcher on this swing (he's delighted!)
